Tatkal tickets are the best choice for last-minute journeys or short-notice journeys. According to IRCTC, these Tatkal tickets are available only a given period of time in a day. That particular time is known as tatkal timing. Usually, this tatkal timing starts from a day before the date of your journey for AC coaches including AC 3 Tier, AC 2 Tier, AC Chair Car at 10 AM and 11 AM for all the Non-AC coaches including Sleeper and Reserve Second Sitting coaches. One should book the tatkal tickets only in the given tatkal timings.
